Summary/Objective
The Senior HR Manager - Teichert Materials position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business unit(s). The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues. The successful person acts as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs. Communicating needs proactively with our HR department and business management, this role seeks to develop integrated solutions. This role formulates partnerships to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. This role maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its strategic plans, its culture, and its competition. This role understands the organization's value chain and applies financial principles (cost-benefit analysis) to talent decisions.

Essential Functions

  1. Effectively owns the strategic HR function for the designated business unit(s)
  2. Lead and coach assigned business unit leader(s) to provide strategic and day-to-day HR guidance and proactively supports line management.
  3. Applies data interpretation and storytelling skills to translate insights into action for business leaders. Analyzes trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and policies, including workforce planning, market trends, and pay equity, in partnership with Total Rewards.
  4. Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations that are not complex and oversees complex ones using external investigation resources where appropriate, with a focus on legal and regulatory compliance.
  5. Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with legal advisor as needed or required.
  6. Leads day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  7. Provides guidance and input on assigned business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  8. Working closely with business unit managers, identifies training and individual executive coaching needs and resources.
  9. Leverages tools, templates, resources, and systems provided by Teichert Services Group, Inc., including services provided for talent acquisition, benefits, and onboarding to deliver consistent operational support and reporting.
  10. Assesses business unit initiatives for employment risk and advises on modifications or accommodations to mitigate risk appropriately.
  11. Actively participates in the HR Council, proactively sharing best practices with peers in other business units.
  12. Design and deliver HR training programs.
  13. Champion employee engagement initiatives, inclusion efforts, and workplace experience programs that reinforce company values.
  14. Lead change management initiatives and guide leadership through organizational transitions.
  15. Demonstrates agility in their proactive support for implementation and usage of HRIS.
  16. Participates in industry-related conferences, committees, and events.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has the possibility for direct reports. Will coach and mentor other HR positions regardless of team structure.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and occasional weekend work as job duties demand.

Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area travel may be expected. Periodic overnight travel to attend meetings and build relationships.

Required Education and Experience
  1. Minimum of 8 to 10 years' experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
  2. Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.

Preferred Education and Experience
  1. Bachelor's degree and relevant industry experience, or equivalent years of HR experience.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  1. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification preferred.

BASE SALARY RANGE:
$116,667.00 - $163,333.00
The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonable expects to pay for the position. The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role, level, geographic location, relevant education, training, or experience, among other factors.
