I. JOB OVERVIEW






Job Description Summary:
The George Washington University Police Department ( GWPD) to provide a safe and secure campus environment for all members of the university community through best-in-class technological and physical infrastructure, proactive assessment and analysis, and a caring team of professionals dedicated to upholding the university's values with the highest degree of conscientiousness.
Reporting to the Chief of Police, the Administrative Associate supports the day-to-day operational needs for GWPD.
Primary responsibilities include:

  • Facilitates payroll and leave administration for the department through regular payroll approvals, managing leave profiles, adjusting leave requests, managing manual time sheet submissions, reconciling PTO balances and providing guidance on payroll and leave-related issues
  • Coordinates and maintains the Department's mobile phone program.
  • Supports the expediting of procurement contracts for GWPD; performs independent analysis of all required documentation; interacts with other staff within the division, other University offices, and external sources to ensure that contracts are processed in a timely manner.
  • Supports the GWPD uniform contract by evaluating service needs, maintaining supplier relationships, providing account-related issue resolution and communicating account-related information to stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with the Division of Safety and Operations (DSO) to provide shared support on various division-wide special projects, meetings, or events.
  • Provides calendar support for the chief of police, as well as event coordination for the department.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude leadership from assigning duties that are logically related to this role.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are critical with the ability to interact within a diverse university population.
  • Proficiency is desired in Microsoft Office, G Suite, Adobe, Constant Contact, list serve management Google Drive and other software programs that may be necessary to effectively support the department.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and administrative skills.

Hiring Range $26.17 - $34.04
