Data Engineer - Onsite Position

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Engineer for an onsite position located in Irving, TX or Charlotte, NC. This is a 24+ month contract opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Support a new data platform modernization project to modernize cloud data pipelines, build new applications, and update current legacy platforms
• Assist with building AI agents to introduce new efficiencies
• Migrate new applications, add new applications, and assist with building to the target state
• Collaborate with architects and engineering teams to ensure alignment with target state architecture
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in data pipelines and ensure high availability and reliability
• Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering
• Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term Software Engineering challenges

Requirements:

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education
• Ability to design and develop ETL/ELT workflows and data pipelines for batch and real-time processing (GCP or other cloud platforms like PySpark)
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines for reporting and downstream applications using open source frameworks and cloud technologies
• Ability to implement operational and analytical data stores leveraging Delta Lake and modern database concepts (BigQuery or similar applications)
• Experience optimizing data structures for performance and scalability across large datasets
• Ability to apply best practices for data governance, lineage tracking, and metadata management, including integration with Google Dataplex for centralized governance and data quality enforcement
• Experience developing, scheduling, and orchestrating complex workflows using Apache Airflow, with strong proficiency in designing and managing Airflow DAGs

Desired skills:

• Experience building AI agents or agent solutions to increase and introduce new efficiencies
• Experience performing technology transformation projects at a large corporate entity

Pay range: $59.53 - $67.53 per hour
