Position Summary The Non-Student Short-Term Casual role within the Honig Lab will assist the Department of Systems Biology with the DREAM-High project activities as part of the summer course for high school students. Broadly, the software environment and program website will be improved, new content will be created, and students will be mentored during the course offering. Responsibilities Assist U54 CaST Outreach Core Director with porting the current software modules from the R programming language to the Python programming language within the same computing environment. Redesign and update the course website and provide seamless integration with course management and cloud computing platforms. Assist U54 CaST Outreach Core Director in developing a new course module by running beta code and providing extensive feedback on operability and accessibility. Assist U54 CaST Outreach Core Director in building Shiny applications for the course modules as interactive web apps so the material may be broadly applicable to users outside of a programming environment. Mentor students during the program offering by providing direction in running code, completing course modules, and implementing the student's independent projects. Minimum Qualifications Current enrollment in high school.
