JRAD is seeking candidates for an upcoming Operations/Data Analyst (Journeyman) position supporting the U.S. Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center (AFOTEC), Detachment 6 (DET 6) - Fighter Test Services (FTS). This position is located at Nellis AFB, NV.

The Operations/Data Analyst (Journeyman) provides analytical and data support in the application of quantitative and qualitative methods to operational test and evaluation (OT&E) of defense systems under the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center (AFOTEC) Detachment 6 Fighter Test Services contract.

Performs data collection, processing, and analysis of operational test data derived from live flight testing, distributed test environments, and modeling and simulation (M&S) systems, including the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE). Supports development of analytical products that assess system performance, effectiveness, and suitability in operational conditions.

Works independently on assigned analytical tasks and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate, timely, and mission-relevant data analysis in support of AFOTEC evaluation objectives.

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Collect, process, and analyze data from multiple sources, including flight test telemetry, simulation outputs, mission logs, and system performance data
  • Apply statistical and analytical techniques to evaluate system performance, identify trends, and detect anomalies
  • Support development and maintenance of data pipelines, data repositories, and analytical workflows
  • Perform data validation, cleansing, and quality assurance to ensure accuracy and integrity of datasets
  • Develop data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to communicate analytical findings to stakeholders
  • Support development of metrics, measures of effectiveness (MOEs), and measures of performance (MOPs) for operational test activities
  • Assist in conducting trade studies, comparative analyses, and performance assessments
  • Collaborate with engineers, operations research analysts, intelligence analysts, and program management personnel to integrate data across functional areas
  • Support test planning and execution by preparing data collection strategies and analysis approaches
  • Provide post-test data analysis and contribute to development of evaluation reports and briefings
  • Document analytical methodologies, data sources, and results in accordance with government standards
  • Ensure compliance with data management, security, and information assurance requirements

Required Skills and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, or a related analytical discipline
  • 3 or more years of relevant professional experience in data analysis, operations analysis, or related analytical fields
  • Experience supporting operational test and evaluation (OT&E) activities within AFOTEC or similar test organizations
  • Familiarity with fighter aircraft systems (e.g., F-35, F-16, F-15, F-22) and air combat operations
  • Experience with Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) or distributed test architectures
  • Experience with data engineering, data pipelines, or cloud-based analytics platforms
  • Familiarity with the following tools and technologies: programming languages - Python, R, MATLAB; data analysis tools - SQL, Excel, statistical packages; visualization tools - Tableau, Power BI or equivalent; data processing and analytics platforms (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, or equivalent)
  • Experience applying statistical and analytical methods to technical or operational datasets
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data from multiple sources
  • Experience performing data validation, transformation, and analysis
  • Experience developing data visualizations and analytical reports
  • Experience supporting analytical efforts in technical or operational environments

Security Clearance:

  • Active Secret clearance required; Top Secret/SCI preferred
