About the Unit The 4th Floor (4NS) is a thirty-six bed Cardiac Progressive Care Unit providing high-quality, patient-centered care to adults with complex cardiac and medical needs. 4NS cares for hemodynamically stable adult patients (18+) requiring continuous telemetry and monitoring every four hours. Pediatric patients aged 14 and older may be admitted to a private room with a guardian present. All patients are on continuous cardiac telemetry, offering a clinically rich environment that demands strong nursing judgment, effective prioritization, and consistent adherence to evidence-based practice. The unit includes thirty-six beds, comprised of semi-private and private rooms, including one negative pressure room, supporting flexibility in patient placement and infection control. Scope of work The Clinical Nurse Manager is an experienced leader responsible for managing assigned areas and services and supervising assigned patient care staff to promote the creation of a center of excellence for staff recruitment and retention and clinical and business outcomes. The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring safe and effective delivery of patient care and clinical outcomes, compliance with regulatory, administrative, and clinical standards, and policies and procedures. The Nurse Manager serves as a chief retention and safety officer. He/she ensures that safety and quality standards are upheld by effective use of data and technology to make decisions and proactively mitigates unnecessary risks for his/her area of responsibility. The Nurse Manager creates and ensures a desirable, safe work environment that enables the organization to meet or exceed its mission and goals. He/she models the way to foster communication and collaboration with physicians, staff, patients, and other departments.
