Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Manager, PeopleSoft Systems Administration.
The Senior Manager, PeopleSoft Systems Administration is responsible for the overall stability, performance, and availability of the organizations PeopleSoft Financials and PeopleSoft HCM environments. This role leads a hybrid team of on-site and offshore PeopleSoft system administrators (currently 2 on-site FTEs and 2 offshore sponsored resources), ensuring reliable operations of our on premises PeopleSoft environments running on Oracle Exadata and RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) web and application servers.The Senior Manager partners closely with technology and business stakeholders particularly Finance, HR, and IT leadership to plan, prioritize, and execute system enhancements, maintenance, and strategic initiatives. As the organization expands its footprint into AWS for disaster recovery and future-state capabilities, the Senior Manager will play a key role in planning and supporting cloud-related initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a geographically distributed team of PeopleSoft system administrators (on-site and offshore).
- Manage workload assignment, daily operations, and performance management for the team.
- Establish and enforce standards, processes, and best practices for PeopleSoft system administration and infrastructure support.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
PeopleSoft Platform Ownership
- Own the technical operations of PeopleSoft Financials and PeopleSoft HCM environments, including web, application, and database tiers.
- Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of PeopleSoft environments running on Exadata and RHEL servers.
- Oversee installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and migrations of PeopleSoft application, tools, and related components.
- Coordinate and validate environment refreshes, cloning, and maintenance across development, test, and production.
Systems Administration & Infrastructure
- Direct and participate in standard system administration tasks, including:
- OS-level administration on RHEL servers (patching, tuning, monitoring, security hardening)
- Application server and web server administration (e.g., WebLogic, Tuxedo, web tier configuration)
- Monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning across the PeopleSoft stack
- Backup, restore, and disaster recovery preparation in collaboration with infrastructure teams
- Ensure proper documentation for system configurations, runbooks, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Work closely with database administrators supporting PeopleSoft on Exadata to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
Governance, Incident Management, and Support
Establish and oversee incident, problem, and change management processes for PeopleSoft environments.
Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues and major incidents, including occasional off-hours support as required.
Coordinate root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for critical incidents.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, audit requirements, and relevant regulatory standards (e.g. HIPAA as applicable).
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
Partner with Finance, HR, Payroll, Supply Chain, and other functional stakeholders to understand business needs, plan releases, and prioritize work.
Collaborate with application/functional teams on PeopleSoft upgrades, new modules, integrations, and enhancements.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 710 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3+ years of hands-on experience administering PeopleSoft Financials and/or PeopleSoft HCM in a complex enterprise environment.
Minimum 3+ years in a leadership or management role overseeing technical teams

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $121,792.21 - $190,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
