Position Summary

The Supply Chain Data & Reporting Intern supports the development and deployment of standardized Power BI dashboards and KPI reporting that improve decision-making across Supply Chain, Operations, and business units. This role focuses on transitioning reporting from manual and inconsistent processes to scalable, accurate, and timely dashboards that support the organization.

The intern will also provide ad hoc data analysis to support supply chain decisions related to inventory, supplier performance, and material readiness, while contributing to SharePoint-based reporting and workflow improvements. This role directly supports Trident's supply chain transformation by enabling governed metrics and supports senior analyst's current work by building on existing dashboards with more consistent, governed reporting practices.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in expanding and standardizing existing Power BI dashboards that support supply chain KPIs and operational reporting.
  • Help improve consistency and cadence of recurring reports that are currently in various stages of development.
  • Standardize recurring reports to improve consistency, accuracy, and reporting cadence.
  • Extract, cleanse, and structure data from ERP systems, Excel, and SharePoint to support reliable reporting.
  • Support development of balanced KPI reporting across readiness, risk, efficiency, supplier performance, and working capital.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis to support supply chain decision-making and operational priorities.
  • Document KPI definitions, data sources, and dashboard logic to ensure sustainability and governance.
  • Support SharePoint list, library, and workflow enhancements to improve reporting access and collaboration.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations teams to define reporting requirements and improve dashboard usability.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual reporting and improve automation.
  • Support preparation of materials for monthly and quarterly operational and executive reviews.
  • Ability to support multi-site work, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data organization.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate results clearly.
  • Must be located within commuting distance to Fairfax, VA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building dashboards in Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Power Query, DAX, SQL, or data transformation tools.
  • Exposure to ERP or supply chain data (inventory, purchasing, planning).
  • Familiarity with SharePoint lists, document libraries, and workflow tools.
  • Understanding of supply chain KPIs (inventory, lead time, supplier performance, working capital).
  • Ability to translate business needs into actionable reporting.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Self-starter with a willingness to learn and take ownership of deliverables
