A cardiac rehabilitation Exercise Physiologist utilizes the clinical process to offer a multifaceted and multidisciplinary approach to overall cardiovascular risk reduction, foster healthy behaviors, reduce disability, and promote an active lifestyle for patients with cardiovascular disease. The Exercise Physiologist works with a registered nurse to serve as a liaison between the patient and physician to facilitate expeditious and effective medical care. Participates in running Project Heart Smart when offered and in the Heart Beats Volunteer group as needed. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Qualifications EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science required. Masters Preferred EXPERIENCE Cardiology, physical rehabilitation, community health, teaching, exercise training or public health training. LICENSURE Telemetry trained, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Preferred, Certification by the American College of Sports Medicine and/or American Association for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. SPECIAL SKILLS CPR Certified required. ACLS preferred. The worker must be able to stand, walk, talk, hear, lift, push, pull, reach, stoop, kneel, climb and perform repetitive motions, of the wrist, fingers or hands., Advanced knowledge of cardiovascular disease, telemetry trained, exercise physiology, cardiac risk factor modification, counseling techniques, nutrition, group dynamic and cardiovascular health education principles YNHHS Requisition ID 174847 | |
