Job Summary

The Education Coordinator supports the Golisano IDD Initiative (GIDDI) by coordinating and promoting educational programming for community members and professionals. The role contributes to the development of web-based and hybrid micro credentialing, curates educational resources and outreach materials, and supports curriculum development and implementation. In collaboration with the Director and campus and community partners, the coordinator advances evidence-informed education on intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Participates in the design, development, and execution of GIDDI educational programs and events, implementing, administering, and evaluating program policies and procedures to achieve program objectives. Has the authority to formulate, interpret, and implement program policies.
  • Plans and coordinates educational events handling logistics, speakers, registration, day-of operations, and post-event evaluation for seminars, workshops, webinars, and professional development.
  • Develops educational resources and communications, including web content, print/digital materials and curated resource libraries, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with program priorities.
  • Collaborates with FGCU/GIDDI communication channels to promote programs and events through social media and email.
  • Provides guidance and support to students, faculty, and community parters, advising on program offerings, educational resources, and professional development opportunities.
  • Assists the Director in the development of curriculum and educational modules, both community-facing and professional training, integrating participant feedback and best practices to improve program quality.
  • Conducts research to assess program performance and progress toward program objectives to make programmatic recommendations to ensure attainment of program deliverables.
  • Maintains organized documentation, calendars, and contact lists, and coordinates with faculty, staff, students and community partners to support educational programming and initiatives.
  • Attend GIDDI team meetings and represent GIDDI at relevant internal/external meetings as requested.

Minimum Requirements for Education Coordinator, GIDDI Level I:

  • This position requires either five years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in education, public health, special education or an appropriate area of specialization and one year of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
  • Experience with computer systems and proficiency in Microsoft office.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

  • This position requires either seven years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in education, public health, special education or an appropriate area of specialization and three years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
  • Experience with computer systems and proficiency in Microsoft office.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
  • Skilled in creating professional written content and efficiently managing program logistics.

  • Ability to work independently to complete assignments.
  • Ability to provide professional customer service.
  • Ability to present to large groups.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed to support events.
  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed for community-based seminars or partner meetings.

  • Demonstrated track record of reliability, meeting goals, and holding oneself accountable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working effectively across teams.

Education Coordinator, GIDDI Level II- Pay Grade 16

Applicants will be evaluated for roles as either Education Coordinator I or Education Coordinator, II based on their qualifications.
