Requisition #: 1529 Job Tittle: Linux System Administrator Location: Fort George G. Meade (FGGM), Maryland Clearance Required: Active DoD Secret Secret Certification: Security+ CE (IAT II) Certification Requirement: Security+ or equivalent or higher Job Description Position Summary: The Linux System Administrator provides technical support to the FGGM Operational and Technical Lab Support Task Order in support of the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) mission. The role includes administering and securing RHEL systems in a classified DoD lab, supporting test environments, and working directly with Government personnel and mission customers. Responsibilities: Install, configure, secure, and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems. Manage and maintain YUM servers and internal package repositories. Apply DISA STIGs, run SCAP scans, and implement remediations. Conduct ACAS/Nessus vulnerability scans and support RHEL patching and compliance. Provide limited support for DNS and IPv6 configuration. Perform basic administration within VMware 6.7 environments. Support cross platform coordination with Windows Server 2016, Active Directory, and domain services. Operate systems on SIPR and other classified networks while adhering to all DoD security requirements. Maintain system documentation, procedures, and configuration records. Work collaboratively with Government staff, lab engineers, and end customers. Required Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of Linux system administration experience. Strong RHEL administration, patching, and troubleshooting background. Experience with YUM, DISA STIGs, SCAP, and ACAS/Nessus. Familiarity with DNS, IPv6, VMware 6.7, and Windows/AD environments. Previous experience working in classified DoD environments. Active Security+ CE certification. Strong communication and customer support skills with the ability to work effectively alongside Government personnel. SIPR, classified environment experience Security + CE Required Skills * Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) (installing, configuring, patching, troubleshooting) * YUM Server configurations and administration * DISA STIGs, SCAP scans * DNS IPv6 configuration and management (some knowledge of) * VMWare 6.7 (some administration, use, maintaining) * Windows 2016, Active Directory (AD) and Domain Controller (DC) (some knowledge of) * ACAS/Nessus scanning (some scanning required to manage and implement RHEL updates) * SIPR, classified environment experience Working Conditions The work is on-site in a government laboratory environment at Fort Meade.
