Laboratory Coordinator

Full Time I First Shift

Laboratory I Georgetown, KY

Description:

  • Providing leadership and supervision to designated employees to ensure quality services and staff competency.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in all duties and procedures performed by staff to effectively manage team performance.
  • Serving as a role model in customer service excellence and quality patient care.
  • Handling complaints and problems promptly with appropriate documentation and follow-up.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of clinical practices, technical skills, management topics, and emerging technologies.
  • Providing ongoing feedback to staff and management regarding quality standards, regulations, and individual development needs.
  • Planning, developing, and implementing continuing education and training programs for staff.
  • Ensuring ongoing staff competency through skills evaluations, validations, and orientation programs for employees and students.
  • Supervising human resources functions to promote quality services and positive employee relations.
  • Collaborating with the director on personnel training, orientation, competency, retention, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensuring personnel policies and procedures are followed to maintain a fair and equitable work environment.
  • Overseeing staff performance evaluations and ensuring all observations and meetings are completed on time.
  • Monitoring overtime and absenteeism to maintain effective staffing levels.
  • Adjusting staffing according to workload demands and informing the director of staffing or disciplinary concerns.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Must have 1 year experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in the designated discipline and be qualified under CLIA regulations to function as a General or Technical Supervisor.
  • Certified in Clinical Laboratory Science by recognized certifying agencies.
