Manage a team of analysts to ensure team productivity, development throughput, and project delivery deadlines/objectives are met. You will be the final decision maker and point of escalation for your team. Business Architecture Analysts help derive, interpret, and translate detailed business requirements into in depth technical software requirements and specifications through analysis on large projects or business contract pursuits, as well as developing comprehensive testing strategies to ensure delivery of these requirements meets desired goals.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage, guide, mentor, and support team members.

  • Act as a leadership point of contact for analysis expertise

  • Develop standards and best practices for performance of business architecture analyst activities

  • Manage and mentor staff to ensure that quality and productivity standards are met; ensure training, performance, and individual development of staff.

  • Develop staff KPI's and goals consistent with business and departmental requirements and goals.

  • Administration of department policy and procedures to include performance reviews, handling employee issues, monitoring PTO (Paid Time Off), timesheet approval, interviewing, oversight of new hire training, professional growth and performance, and routine departmental tasks.

  • Research, evaluate and suggest new products and process improvements to perform architecture analysis within the team.

  • Provide guidance to staff when troubleshooting issues; oversee complex issues and escalate to leadership as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience developing technical requirements for the implementation of new software
  • 2+ years of experience developing test cases for implemented software
  • Experience in technical writing and software documentation, including the ability to interpret technical specification documents (e.g., system designs, data models, interface specs) and derive clear, actionable requirements from them
  • Experience working as a liaison between IT professionals and operational stakeholders
  • Advanced understanding of database structures and data models, along with a solid ability to analyze and interpret system relationships between applications - including data flows, integration points, and overall architecture
  • Demonstrated successful implementation of large-scale technology projects
  • Demonstrated solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently as well as on a team in both a lead and support role and prioritize work while meeting critical deadlines
  • Driver's License and access to reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems (MIS) or other related field with an emphasis in MIS
  • 4+ years of experience working as a liaison between IT, internal and external business leads and end user community
  • Experience working in a health care environment

  • This position will support Optum Serves performance of a United States (U.S.) Government contract and will require the successful applicant to access and/or process Non Critical Sensitive information (Personally Identifiable Information [PII]/Protected Health Information
  • [PHI]) from or contained in a U.S. Government IT system
  • To fulfill the data and IT system access requirements for this position, the successful applicant will be required to successfully complete a Trustworthy Determination, which will require the successful applicant to: 1) be a U.S. citizen 2) pass a National Agency Check with law enforcement in order to obtain the access privileges required by the position and 3) pass a Credit Check in order to obtain the access privileges required by the position.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
