UNC Horizons Program seeks Residential Therapist to work in our residential treatment programs for women with substance abuse issues and their children in Chapel Hill. These programs operate 24/7, 365 days a year. |
| Position Summary |
The Residential Therapist provides clinical services within a perinatal, gender-specific, trauma-responsive residential substance use disorder treatment program. This role is responsible for delivering individualized, evidence-based treatment to women, including those who are pregnant or parenting, in accordance with North Carolina residential substance use service definitions.
-Complete comprehensive clinical assessments, including substance use, mental health, and biopsychosocial evaluations, to determine medical necessity and appropriate level of care
-Develop and implement individualized Person-Centered Plans (PCPs) in collaboration with the client and treatment team
-Provide weekly individual therapy sessions focused on substance use, co-occurring disorders, trauma, and recovery support
-Support clients in developing coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, and emotional regulation
-Coordinate care with a multidisciplinary treatment team, including case management, peer support, medical, and psychiatric providers
-Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute to ongoing assessment of client progress and level of care needs
-Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant electronic documentation in accordance with NC Medicaid and state regulatory requirements
-Support discharge and transition planning to ensure continuity of care and linkage to community-based services

LCAS,
LMFT, or
LCMHC required. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree in a Human Services discipline with coursework related to the area of assignment. Some positions may require certification to practice as a certified or licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification Board. |
| Management Preferences |
-Experience providing individual therapy to women with substance use disorders, including perinatal populations
-Knowledge of trauma-informed care and co-occurring disorder treatment
-Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team |
