Job Summary

We are seeking a research scientist to conduct research to understand the histone-to-protamine transition and chromatoid body formation during spermiogenesis.

Essential Job Duties

  • Design and establish an in vitro system in somactic cell lines to recapitulate the histone-to-protamine transition (20%)
  • Execute and analyze genome-wide CRISPRi screents to identify factors involved in the histone-to-protamine transition in somatic cell lines (30%)
  • Apply molecular biology approaches to characterize the molecular composition of the chromatoid body and investigate its assocation with the nucleus (20%)
  • Collaborate with team members and other research groups to address technical challenges affecting experimental outcomes and related research (15%)
  • Prepare research reports and presentations for internal meetings, publications, and scientific conferences (15%)

Basic Qualifications

  • PhD in biological sciences
  • Five years of postdoctoral research experience
  • Strong knowledge of genomics, epigenetics, molecular biology, and cell biology
  • At least 3 years of experience independently performing molecular and cell biology experiments, including tissue culture, microscopy, flow cytometry, and CRISPR-based genetic manipulation
  • At least 2 years of experience in bioinformatic analysis of high-throughput sequencing datasets
  • At least 2 years of experience with mass spectrometry-based proteomics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience mentoring undergraduate or graduate students
  • Experience presenting research in international scientific meetings

Hiring Range

$59,800 - $85,900 Per Year

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
