Responsible for collecting and cleaning glassware and autoclaving solutions/consumables, in addition to miscellaneous duties as needed in the laboratory. Adequate performance in job is essential for research program which depends heavily on clean and sterile conditions.

1. Performs glassware washing and sterilization, sterilizes various solutions and biowaste. (Accounting for 90% of working time).

2. Performs miscellaneous tasks for various labs in Pathology Research.

3. Maintains established department policies, procedures and objectives, including the areas of quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.

4. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as directed.

Education
Associate's Degree Related Field of Study preferred or High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Experience
Experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting 1-2 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment and terminology.
- Ability to follow established procedures and protocols with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
