Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Directing, managing and implementing challenging technical projects involving: environmental due diligence (individual and programmatic projects); environmental regulatory compliance (multimedia auditing, facility program development, corrective action, and permitting support); ESG consulting, brownfield redevelopments; and site investigation and remediation;
  • Cultivating relationships with new and existing clients, resulting in the expansion of the Firm's current practices and capabilities through new business opportunities;
  • Maintaining high visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact, participation in client-based professional organizations, and attendance and presentations at industry events; and
  • Supervising and mentoring early career professionals.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 20%
  • Overnight Travel: Up to 10%

Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, chemical, or environmental preferred), geology, or applicable science program. (required)
  • Advanced degree in engineering or science. (preferred)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of direct environmental consulting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Experience with environmental due diligence including performance of Phase I ESA's under the applicable ASTM standards (required)
  • Experience performing limited environmental compliance evaluation projects (preferred).
  • Experience with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), sustainability and greenhouse gas (GHG) regulatory and strategy support services within North America associated with ongoing compliance and due diligence tasks.
  • Working knowledge of Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), and Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) (required)
  • Experience working on legally sensitive projects. (preferred)
  • Experience in effective management of projects, including responsibility for resource allocation, quality, technical oversight, and financial management. (required)
  • Experience implementing Phase II ESA and site investigation projects (preferred)
  • Demonstrated success in developing new business and managing clients. (preferred)
  • Experience mentoring and managing professional staff. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handle multiple project assignments, meet deadlines, and travel to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

This opportunity will be posted for at least five days. Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified location(s) below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $106,275 /year / Maximum Salary: $152,575 /year (Oakland, CA)
