Buckeye Partners is currently seeking a Maintenance/Turnaround Planner with a minimum of 5 years' experience in executing and planning maintenance and turnaround work with experience in refinery, terminal or pipeline operations to join our team! Role Summary: The basic function of this role is to develop planned job packages for maintenance and turnaround repair work and improvement projects based on priorities established by the Operations. The job plans must fully satisfy the notification scope and include all material, services, resources and appropriate scheduling logic between individual operations or tasks. This position must ensure that sufficient amount of work is planned to satisfy production needs. Responsibilities & Essential Functions include:
Participating in the management of notification and work order backlog by:
Reviewing backlog and planning list for duplicates
Grouping work orders together that can be planned and worked as a single order that optimizes utilization of resources
Review Operations planning priority list to ensure unit needs are met
Ensuring plans are in place that meet the timing requirements of the units
Checking for understanding of scope through notification text and field walk through.
Ensuring that order type and maintenance activity types are accurately assigned on the order.
Using or creating task lists for repetitive jobs (if applicable)
Using BOM's where appropriate.
Adjust Basic Start Date to accommodate component lead time and production needs
Update planning priorities list
Building or copying the job plan that clearly shows:
special instructions and required documentation such as MOC information, QC-QA needs, piping schematics, etc.,
required skill crafts and duration,
specialty tools, equipment,
optimal scheduling logic between operations,
an operation for capital spare repair, where necessary,
reservation or purchase order for necessary components
Providing necessary support for Priority 1 and 2 orders as defined by plant specific criteria.
Adding steps to order for additional unplanned and discovery scope defined by plant specific criteria.
Forwarding job packages to the Contractor and Buckeye Maintenance Supervision.
Soliciting feedback on executed jobs plans and making any necessary changes to ensure planning and work efficiencies continue to improve.
Provide feedback to the craftsman on planner feedback forms
Participating in the identification and implementation of reliability driven improvements
Responsible for all planning deliverables for a single block on a multi-block T/A Event
Responsible for planning all activities for turnarounds
Coordination with numerous other disciplines - operations, engineering, procurement and finance
Intimately familiar with all turnaround work processes
Responsible for the safety performance of assigned personnel maintenance and or turnaround during execution.
Field verifies work described in maintenance and turnaround scope and develops detailed work scope activities, with craft type, materials, estimated hours, and plans.
Assesses job to understand the optimal plan to achieve maintenance budget and turnaround premises including low cost and safety performance.
Creates bill of material for assigned work, requisitions material, and ensure all material is delivered.
Assembles work packages with detailed information for planning and execution. Identification, review, and escalation of high-risk activities.
Ensures compliance to plant orders, policies and procedures including, but not limited to MOC, quality, and turnaround addenda processes
Works with Scheduler to optimize the master schedule.
Completes estimate of Direct Field Labor hours, overheads, materials, and equipment for assigned area.
Communicates key issues and risks to the Scheduler, Maintenance Supervisors, Maintenance Manager and Sr. Maintenance Manager.
Responsible for update of the schedule for assigned work activities (scheduler will actually input during execution)
Management of maintenance and turnaround files and records
Provides a critique of maintenance and turnaround activities after completion of project, participates in Lessons Learned and Lookback process.
Is mindful of and continues to look for opportunities to reduce maintenance and turnaround scope, and plan and execute with low cost mindset.
Rotating on call duty
- And other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: Minimum of 5 years' of planning maintenance and turnaround work experience with emphasis on maintenance and turnaround planning in the petrochemical and/or Oil & Gas Industry preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software
Knowledge of Primavera scheduling software is a plus
Working knowledge of I&E (Working knowledge of general maintenance)
Strong proficiency in written and verbal communication in the English language
Travel Requirements: 10% travel

Physical & Safety Requirements:
This person must meet medical criteria established by OSHA for emergency response.
Position may require exposure to adverse weather conditions, hazardous environments and require the physical stamina to climb tanks, work long hours in the field and wear a respirator.
Ability to climb tanks, ladders, etc.
Ability to work around water.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Ability to stand/sit for extended period of time.
