Your Opportunity + Impact

The Construction Manager oversees inspectionrelated projects within the company's construction management operations and ensures all work is completed in accordance with contract requirements, standards, specifications, and applicable regulations. This role is responsible for identifying issues in the field and recommending appropriate corrective actions. The Construction Manager also leads project documentation efforts, prepares required reports, and coordinates the delivery of project information to clients and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspects, observes, and documents construction activities for projects.
  • Uses various computer software programs to document observations and creates inspection reports.
  • Continuously monitors work of team to ensure timely completion of project by providing daily report writing and accurate quantity tracking.
  • Interacts in a professional manner with clients, contractors, sub-contractors, government agency representatives, and other parties on a regular basis
  • Communicates information, responds to inquiries, and helps resolve field issues to ensure successful completion of projects.
  • Utilizes technical references appropriately for the inspection of structural, concrete, earthwork, building, and mechanical components.
  • Serves as a liaison with project management by reporting on inspections, subcontracting, progress, and delays.
  • Proactively identifies and works to resolve any site issues that may impede the project delivery.
  • Provides technical knowledge and input to assist installing contractors. Serves as field matter expert to team members.
  • Displays strong understanding of construction observation, reporting, and procedures.

Education and Experience

  • Education: Associates degree required. Bachelor or Masters degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of experience with related construction inspection experience. Project experience in the City of Pittsburgh preferred.
  • Licensures/Certifications: NICET Level II or higher in Highway Construction, NECEPT Bituminous Field & Concrete, and ACI preferred. Must possess valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in CDS NeXtGen or Kahua software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.
