Tectonic is currently seeking a Construction Project Management Intern to support the closeout of a major stadium expansion project located at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY. This opportunity provides hands-on experience on an active construction site and exposure to project coordination, closeout procedures, and field operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Supporting the Senior Project Manager and Project Manager with construction closeout activities;
- Performing field observations on an active construction site;
- Assisting with coordination and placement of donor signage throughout the facility;
- Assisting in coordination of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) and other finish elements provided by third parties;
- Reviewing closeout documentation for completeness and accuracy;
- Assisting with coordination alongside the commissioning agent;
- Utilizing Procore project management software for documentation and tracking;
- Communicating effectively with project managers, contractors, and team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidates must be pursuing a degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field (Junior-level students preferred);
- Strong communication and organizational skills required;
- Interest in construction project management and field operations;
- Previous building construction experience preferred but not required;
- Ability to work in a professional, team-oriented environment;
- Must be able to pass a government security background check;
- Requires a valid, acceptable driver's license and transportation to travel to the project site, as regular daily travel is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the essential functions of this position, it is frequently necessary to:
- Assume a stationary position,
- Handle, inspect, and/or feel documents, materials and/or equipment relevant to the job;
- Communicate with colleagues, supervisors, and clients using Company email and telephone systems;
- Move around on the job-site, including ascending or descending on the landscape or on a ladder, and positioning oneself appropriately to access necessary testing materials and equipment, usually for prolonged periods of time,
- Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. for some types of monitoring and inspections,
- Good visual skills, including focused depth perception, and
- Regular daily operations of a motor-vehicle, which may require remaining stationary for extended periods of time.
Employees may also be required to undergo substance abuse testing in accordance with project requirements, US DOT Regulations, and/or Company policy. The employee may occasionally be required to operate a computer, as well as other related office machinery, such as calculators, printers, and copy machines.

PAY RATE
Tectonic's goal is to compensate employees fairly and equitably across all positions Companywide. Our advertised pay ranges are representative of our good faith effort to provide a reasonable anticipated salary range. The offered pay may be outside of the provided salary range based upon the selected candidate's work location, experience, education, certifications, and capabilities compared to the advertised position.
Pay Rate: $21.00 / hour
