Job Description:
Hands-on manufacturing/process engineering role focused on specialty fiber production equipment, optimization, troubleshooting, throughput, and quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and execute engineering experiments to develop practical, scalable solutions.
- Develop, maintain, and execute technical and regulatory documentation (e.g., work instructions, forms) in accordance with established processing procedures; ensure adherence throughout the manufacturing process.
- Support new product development and drive ongoing production process improvements and refinements.
- Create and manage work orders, including machine setup parameters, recipes, and specifications for spinning and texturing processes.
- Set up and configure equipment in accordance with work orders, customer specifications, and quality standards.
- Develop, refine, and input formulas and process parameters to meet production, quality, and performance requirements.
- Maintain and manage inventory of materials and equipment, including polymers, masterbatch, spinnerets, spin packs, and color standards.
- Ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and operability of equipment and work areas, including specialized equipment (e.g., sandblasting).
- Perform lab testing, evaluations, and analysis to support product and process validation.
- Identify, document, and manage non-conforming products and implement corrective actions.
- Present analytical findings, project updates, and solutions to senior management and clients as needed.
- Train and guide personnel on technical procedures, documentation, and equipment operation; ensure proper execution of work instructions.
- Enforce company policies and procedures with a strong emphasis on safety, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to processes, testing, and production activities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of engineering experience, ideally in a hands-on, production-focused role
- Proven experience working in a manufacturing or process-driven environment
- Understanding of process engineering principles, including process optimization and continuous improvement
- Experience with textiles, material science, or fiber-based processes is strongly preferred
- Open to candidates with broader process engineering backgrounds who demonstrate the ability to quickly adapt and learn new materials or manufacturing processes
