Job Summary

Belden is currently seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager. This position is responsible for performing and initiating all activities in support of environmental, health, and safety and for ensuring effective compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and agencies, managing facility EHS processes to provide a safe and healthy workplace for employees, and to protect the company and the environment. This is an onsite position based in the East Syracuse, NY facility and reports to the Plant Manager.

You will make a difference in the following ways



  • Drive initiatives to improve EHS practices with focus on ergonomics, risk assessments and energy consumption reduction projects.
  • Lead investigations of incidents, near misses, property damage incidents, and manage all workers compensation claims.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and system countermeasure implementation to prevent future exposure.
  • Perform regular safety audits and inspections of the facility, machinery, and equipment to identify and correct potential hazards.
  • Maintain and administer all internal and external EHS records including regulatory reporting, data, and site incidents. Compile company health and safety metrics to include data analysis, tracking and reporting.
  • Serve as primary contact for all regulatory agencies for inspections, permitting, and environmental reporting (air, water, storm water, waste, etc.) Remain up to date on safety and environmental laws or regulation changes that impact the organization.
  • Schedule and coordinate all required EHS annual training sessions.
  • Establish and track EHS key performance indicators align with corporate annual goals.



What you bring



  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in science related field with five (5) or more years of manufacturing EHS experience; CSP certification is preferred
  • Knowledge & Skills: Prefer to be First Aid, CPR, AED Certified, ISO14001, ISO9001
  • Knowledge & Skills: Training/facilitation, SAP experience is preferred.

Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $90,400 - $120,100 plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role. This is the reasonable estimate that Belden believes it might pay for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Belden may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant's experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
