This job family provides vision, direction, and organization of academic strategy to support, build, and enhance the institution's teaching, research and clinical mission and ensure excellent student outcomes and experiences. They are typically responsible for overseeing academic programs, policies, and procedures, managing curriculum development, faculty appointments, and accreditation processes to ensuring excellence in UVA's academic offerings and operations.
These roles are responsible for the planning, implementation and management of academic, research and medical education activities, and programs in support of advancing UVA's academic strategic plan. Typical responsibilities include course planning, program administration and other activities in consultation with college or department management and faculty. The University of Virginia School of Medicine Department of Medical Education seeks a Medical Education and Compliance Administrator to complement the existing team. The Medical Education and Compliance Administrator provides administrative support to curricular processes in Phase 2 (P2) and 3 (P3) of the MD Curriculum, including RCE (Required Clinical Encounters) and EPA (Entrustable Professional Activities) Compliance (Phase 2 and 3), P3 data entry in UVA SOM Learning Management System: VMED (Elective course objective mapping) and UVA SOM Online Access to Student Information and Scheduling: Oasis (course information used to generate Pay for Teaching payment amounts). Each Phase of our Curriculum is designed to build clinical and interpersonal skills. By the time students graduate, they possess the 12 competencies necessary to become a contemporary physician as defined by the UVA School of Medicine education program objectives. Phase 1 (P1) emphasizes the knowledge, skills, and values needed to start practicing medicine. Phase 2 (P2) allows students to provide direct patient care under supervision while exploring different specialties. Phase 3 (P3) facilitates exploration of specialty areas of personal interest while preparing for residency. The successful candidate is highly organized, attentive to detail, self-motivated, and possesses the ability to work independently, as well as contribute to a high-performance team. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills will be required. Typical Duties Include:
Candidates will be considered at both the Academic Programs Operations and Service 2 and 3 level. Level will be determined by qualifications. Minimum Requirements for Academic Programs Operations and Service 2 Education: High school diploma/GED Experience: 1+ year relevant experience required, preferably providing administrative support to a medical education program Minimum Requirements for Academic Programs Operations and Service 3 Education: High school diploma/GED Experience: 3+ years of relevant professional experience required, preferably providing administrative support to a medical education program Preferred Qualifications
Physical Demands This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. This job may require working 2-3 evenings per year and/or traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs. The anticipated hiring range is $27.88/hr-$28.85/hr, commensurate with education and experience. This is a non-exempt-level, benefited position. Learn more about UVA benefits.
