Job Description

The Missouri School of Journalism is seeking a Business Support Specialist II to provide comprehensive administrative and operational support across Strategic Communication, Fiscal, and School. This role is ideal for a detailed-oriented, service-driven, and reliable professional who thrives in a fast-paced academic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Communication
* Serve as the first point of contact: answer phones, greet visitors and provide front desk coverage in the Strategic Communication office.
* Provide clerical, project and task support to the faculty group chair and faculty of Strategic Communication.
* Coordinate meetings and appointments: schedule, prepare materials, take minutes, and track attendance.
* Assist with course scheduling, classroom bookings and enrollment documentation (backup support to the School's Course Schedular).
* Collaborate with units across the School to develop and maintain best communication practices.

Fiscal
* Handle fiscal tasks: coordinate travel, purchase supplies, process bills, contracts and reimbursements, and prepare and reconcile monthly financial reports.
* Fiscal management of Strategic Communication Career Fairs and student-led advertising agencies.
* Work closely with the School's Fiscal Officer to process HR-related forms and other fiscal needs.

School-wide:
* Coordinate and support events and provide onsite facilitation.
* Provide backup support to the Journalism Studies Faculty Group and administrative professionals.

Other duties as assigned.

* Strong organizational, communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities with discretion and professionalism.
* Proficient in administrative, financial and office systems.
* Team-oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Shift

Full-time, Monday to Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
This position requires reliable, onsite attendance.

Minimum Qualifications

An Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $17.05 - $23.00 per hour
