Role Overview
VersAbility Resources is seeking an experienced and hands-on Assistant Manager to support operations within our Government Contracts Food Service program at Dam Neck.
This role assists in overseeing daily contract operations, supervising staff, ensuring compliance with government and safety regulations, and delivering high-quality food service operations. The Assistant Manager plays a key role in supporting staff, maintaining standards, and ensuring contract success.

What You'll Do
*Supervise Contract Leads and team members to ensure daily operations run efficiently
*Monitor operations to ensure compliance with the Statement of Work (SOW)
*Provide excellent customer service and maintain relationships with government personnel and stakeholders
*Support staff scheduling and ensure adequate coverage for operations
*Assist with audits, inspections, and compliance with OSHA, food safety, and labor regulations
*Ensure adherence to safety standards, including proper chemical use and MSDS compliance
*Support budgeting, inventory management, vendor relations, and ordering processes
*Assist with employee performance management, training, and development
*Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation
*Support individuals with disabilities in a person-centered and inclusive environment
*Serve as backup to the Manager during absences
*Participate in planning, problem-solving, and operational improvements
*Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
*High school diploma or GED required (Associate's degree preferred)
*Prior supervisory experience required
*2-5 years of food service experience preferred
*Experience working with individuals with disabilities (highly preferred)
*Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
*Knowledge of food safety, OSHA, and compliance standards
*Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
*Valid driver's license and ability to be insurable
*Ability to obtain and maintain base access/security clearance

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role operates primarily in indoor food service and operational environments but may involve exposure to temperature extremes and varied working conditions.
The position requires standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and performing physical tasks throughout the shift.

Schedule
This is a full-time position scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM (35 hours per week). Occasional flexibility may be required based on operational needs.________________________________________
