Description
The Surgical Instruments Repair Technician is responsible to inspect surgical instruments and evaluate their efficiency as surgical tools. This technician will perform repairs and preventative maintenance work on surgical instrumentation to meet the expected standards for clinical care. The technician has the ability and mechanical aptitude to separate out defective instruments and replace them with good quality tools in a timely manner. The surgical Instrument technician demonstrates a strong experience of handling and repairing surgical instruments with precision and is familiar with the prescribed waste management procedures and safety measures. Qualifications
* Fundamental knowledge of electricity and how it relates to equipment (A/C and D/C current) and reading voltages
Lifting to 75 lbs.
Experience: 2-5 years in servicing medical- surgical instrument / devise instruments Two-year associate degree in electronic technology or equivalent education in reprocessing, repair of surgical instruments or combinationPreferred Bachelor's degree in engineering (Clinical Engineering /Bio-Medical technology) preferred BCLS Preferred | |
