Job Title: Data Center Critical Environment Technician Job Overview The Data Center Critical Environment Technician supports the operation, maintenance, and reliability of missioncritical infrastructure within a data center environment. This role is ideal for entrylevel candidates seeking to begin or transition into a career in the technology and data center industry. The position involves handson support of electrical and mechanical systems, coordination with vendors and clients, and assistance with infrastructure and recovery activities. Key Responsibilities Operations & Maintenance * Monitor, inspect, and maintain critical systems including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, UPS, generators, and fire/life safety systems * Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and basic repairs to ensure uptime and reliability * Respond to infrastructure issues and assist with emergency situations as needed Client & Vendor Coordination * Interface with internal teams, clients, and thirdparty vendors * Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with established standards * Support contractors during maintenance or upgrade activities Infrastructure Support * Assist with server installations, rack and stack, cable management, and infrastructure upgrades * Support disaster recovery and emergency response efforts as required Reporting & Documentation * Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation of system status and maintenance activities * Provide regular updates to management on operational conditions and issues Qualifications * Entrylevel candidates seeking longterm career growth in the technology or data center industry are encouraged to apply * Prior experience in missioncritical environments (data centers, hospitals, industrial facilities) is preferred but not required * Exposure to or basic knowledge of HVAC, UPS, generators, BMS, electrical systems, or construction is a plus * Physically capable of responding to emergency situations * Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing ladders * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred, but not required Required Skills * Data Center Operations * Data Center Infrastructure * Cooling & Environmental Systems * Rack & Stack * Cable Pulling Top Skills * Data Center Operations * Data Center * Cooling * Infrastructure Additional Skills & Qualifications * Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) Experience Level * Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Boydton, VA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
