About the Opportunity

DMI, LLC is seeking a AV Technician to join us.

The AV Lead Technician is responsible for the end-to-end operation, optimisation, and leadership of enterprise audio-visual systems supporting legislative sessions, hearings, and high-visibility events. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, ensuring seamless AV performance, rapid issue resolution, and continuous system improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities:

    Lead and oversee daily AV operations across MGA and DLS facilities, including chambers, committee rooms, and conference environments.
  • Supervise and mentor a small team of AV technicians; assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex AV issues, ensuring rapid troubleshooting and resolution during live sessions and events.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of audio, video, lighting, streaming, and broadcasting systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors, integrators, and internal stakeholders for system upgrades, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including system optimisation, process standardisation, and documentation enhancements.
  • Maintain and enforce best practices, SOPs, and operational standards for AV systems and support processes.
  • Oversee and maintain inventory management, asset tracking, and system documentation.
  • Provide advanced training and guidance to ITO staff, end users, and stakeholders on AV system usage and best practices.
  • Support planning and execution of large-scale or high-profile events, ensuring flawless AV delivery.
  • Ensure readiness for legislative deadlines, including after-hours and overtime support as required.


Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Engineering, Communications Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5-8+ years of progressive AV experience, including enterprise AV environments.
  • Proven experience in a lead or supervisory role, managing or mentoring technical teams.
  • Strong experience with AV networking, AVoIP systems, and infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience supporting enterprise hybrid environments (Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure, live event environments with minimal supervision.

Required Skills & Certifications:

  • Mediasite (Monitor, encoders/recorders)
  • AJA HELO encoders/recorders
  • BiAmp Tesira DSP systems
  • Brahler and Sennheiser conferencing systems
  • Crestron DM Matrix, DM-NVX (AVoIP), controllers, and touch panels
  • Crestron XiO Cloud or similar AV management platforms
  • Assisted listening systems and distribution
  • Strong understanding of AV over IP, signal flow, and system integration
  • AVIXA CTS / CTS-D / CTS-I (highly preferred)
  • CompTIA A+ and/or Network+
  • Any relevant AV or networking certifications

Background Requirements: Successful completion of a Fingerprint background investigation.
