About the opportunity
SWCA's Pasadena Cultural Resources Program seeks a staff-level archaeologist to join our multi-disciplinary team in Pasadena, California. This position will be open to distributed workers, ideally located in the Southern California region. This is a regular status (with benefits), half-time (20 - 25 hours a week), hourly position reporting to a Senior Cultural Resources Team Lead. Pay will be based on individual qualifications and experience. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply practical knowledge of California cultural resources to a desktop-based review system. In this role you will perform desktop reviews and web-based queries for cultural resources throughout southern and central California. Work will involve utilizing a variety of online tools including ArcGIS Online, Google Earth, Field Maps, Smartsheet, and Fulcrum. This position will require frequent phone and email communication with the client. As this is an emergency program, work schedules are periodically alternative to regular business hours, including evenings, early mornings, and weekends. This position offers an opportunity to support cultural resources during major emergency events (e.g., inclement weather events, wildfires, mudslides, etc.) as a resource advisor/point-of-contact. An employee in this Pasadena, CA - based position can expect an hourly pay rate for an Assistant Staff Archaeologist between $24.33 to $31.29, and for a Staff Archaeologist, between $26.94 - $34.47. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law.
