Mechanical Design Engineer

A Mechanical Design Engineer - Sustaining job in Niles, IL is currently available through Belcan at one of our key aerospace clients, Woodward. This is a full-time, direct position with benefits. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or a related technical field, and at least 2 years of aerospace experience or 4+ years of relevant mechanical design and drafting experience in a manufacturing environment. In this role, you will support sustaining engineering activities for existing aerospace products and assemblies. You will use Creo and Windchill to revise models and drawings, support engineering changes, and maintain accurate product documentation. This role is a strong fit for someone with hands-on experience in GD&T, design, assembly work, machine design, and sheet metal design.

Mechanical Design Engineer job duties:
* Create and revise 3D models, detail drawings, and assembly drawings using Creo
* Manage CAD files, revisions, and related engineering documentation in Windchill
* Support sustaining engineering efforts for existing aerospace products, including drawing updates and engineering changes
* Apply GD&T and drafting standards to ensure designs are clear, accurate, and manufacturable
* Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve design and documentation issues

Required:
* Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or a related technical field
* At least 2 years of aerospace experience or 4+ years of relevant mechanical design and drafting experience in a manufacturing environment
* Strong experience with Creo and Windchill
* Working knowledge of GD&T, mechanical design, and assembly design
* Experience with machine design and sheet metal design

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $93,600 to $114,400 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
