The Labor and Employment Operations Manager serves as the primary subject matter expert and owner of People Services related policies and also leads and develops a team supporting various labor and employment operational functions, including vetting allegations of misconduct, managing inquiries, processing terminations, and overseeing the review of disciplinary actions and employment investigations. This position leverages specialized knowledge to lead the creation, maintenance, and revision of People Services policies and the teammate policy handbook, and manages the administration of critical policy training programs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Teammate Policy Management: Directly responsible for the maintenance of the teammate policy database. Oversee the creation and regular revision of all teammate policies as well as the teammate policy handbook.
  • Policy Training Administration: Oversee the Administration, deployment, and tracking of sexual harassment prevention training and annual teammate policy training across the organization.
  • Operations and Project Leadership: Direct the Labor and Employment Operations team to deliver against project and operational goals. Set tactical objectives, prioritize and delegate work, hold the team accountable for execution, and provide coaching and performance management to drive team growth and results.
  • Reviewing and Assigning Disciplinary Cases: Oversee the team's review of potential policy violations, ensuring accurate and timely assignment of cases to the appropriate cross-functional team.
  • Responding to Inquiries: Support the team in managing email inboxes and responding to questions submitted via the inbox and through ServiceNow tickets. Directly manage the teammate policy inbox and resolve teammate policy-related questions.
  • Supporting Post-Corrective Action Processes: Support the team in reviewing involuntary terminations, and managing the disciplinary action review process.
  • Unemployment Claims: Oversee DaVita's response to unemployment claims, including acting as the main point of contact with our external vendor, monitoring the unemployment claims inbox and communicating with local managers as required.
  • System Platform Administration: Oversee the team's management of labor and employment related content and material on various platforms, including SharePoint, ServiceNow and DaVita's intranet.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Prior management/supervisory experience required.
  • Proven track record of independently managing complex projects or processes from end-to-end.
  • Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills; ability to make decisions based on data, stakeholder impact, and sound logic.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • Prior experience working with employee policies preferred.
  • Experience with the creation and administration of e-learning training preferred.

The Salary Range for the role is $70,000.00 - $106,000.00/year.
