About the Job

Position Overview

The Research Assistant (RA) will report to Dr. Lynsie Radovich, Research Manager, Memory Keepers Medical Discovery Team. Research tasks are focused on rural medical education and rural and Indigenous dementia care. Faculty investigators from the Department of Family Medicine and Biobehavioral Health, work collaboratively with faculty investigators from the Memory Keepers Medical Discovery Team and academic and community research partners throughout the Great Lakes Region, Canada, and internationally.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assisting with data entry and cleaning.
  • Reporting to the PI/Supervisor as necessary.
  • Literature reviews
  • Environmental scan of web-based resources
  • Assisting with the coordination of research meetings and note taking
  • Attend and support community engagement and community-based research meetings
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS or equivalent education and experience to equal 4 years
  • Evidence of ability to work independently
  • Detail-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Computer proficiency and experience with basic software including MS office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Powerpoint); ability to learn new software programs as needed
  • Ability to multi-task multiple projects with multiple deadlines
  • Strong spoken and written communications skills
  • Must be able to handle and protect confidential and sensitive data

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and knowledge of rural and Indigenous health
  • Experience and knowledge of epidemiologic data and analysis
  • Experience and knowledge of large health datasets
  • Experience and knowledge of qualitative data analysis methods
  • Experience and knowledge of quantitative and statistical analysis methods

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $27.95 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
