Summary:

The Global Launch Quality Engineer supports global launches, New Product Introductions (NPIs), and manufacturing transfers across our manufacturing network, with a primary focus on Medical, Industrial, and Aerospace & Defense (A&D) programs. This role is critical in ensuring quality requirements are clearly defined early-in pre-sale and program pursuit-and fully executed during product transfer, launch, and manufacturing site ramp. The Global Launch Quality Engineer will partner closely with program management, operations, quality, regulatory, engineering, supply chain, and customers to ensure robust quality planning, compliant execution, and successful start-up at the receiving manufacturing site. This position requires strong hands-on experience with quality management systems, validation, risk management, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and proficiency in structured problem solving in a high-reliability, regulated Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment.

Responsibilities:
Pre-Sale & Program Qualification

Engage early in presale and opportunity assessment activities to evaluate customer quality expectations, for new Medical, Industrial and A&D programs. Review customer contracts, statements of work, quality agreements and quality clauses to identify quality risks, and special requirements. Support cost modeling and feasibility assessments related to quality, inspection, and traceability. Participate in customer meetings and audits during business capture, providing quality input and expertise for regulated industries. Confirm customer or site supplier selection\qualification data, including build-to-print first articles and Bill-of-Material accuracy.

NPI & Manufacturing Transfer Execution

Act as the quality lead for assigned NPIs and manufacturing transfers from customer or legacy manufacturing sites to Benchmark receiving manufacturing sites. Support process development, PFMEA, DFMEA (as applicable), control plans and risk mitigation activities aligned with product quality, safety, and reliability expectations. Translate Medical, Industrial and A&D regulatory and customer requirements into executable quality launch plans, inspection strategies, and acceptance criteria. Ensure effective implementation of customer specifications, drawings, quality standards. Ensure inspection plan development for material transfers in compliance with Benchmark requirements prior to receipt. Ensure customer flow-downs for Production and Supply Chain are established including Quality Code assignments on Benchmark Item Numbers.

Factory Start-Up & Ramp

Support factories startup activities, including: First Article Inspection (FAI) and AS9102 packages (where applicable), Pilot builds, qualification builds, and RunatRate, Process readiness and capability assessments. Support equipment and process validation, including IQ/OQ/PQ and process qualification as required for Medical, Industrial and A&D products. Participate in Manufacturing Readiness Review (MRR) with the site. (Work Instructions, Incoming\In-process\Final Inspection documentation, and relative training.) Ensure measurement systems, inspection methods, and test processes are defined, validated, and repeatable. Drive structured root cause analysis and corrective actions for launchrelated issues using disciplined problemsolving methodologies.

Quality Systems & Compliance

Support compliance with applicable standards and regulations, including: ISO 13485, FDA QMSR, and customer regulatory requirements for Medical programs, AS9100, customer flowdowns, and A&D regulatory requirements for A&D programs. Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits during NPI and transfer phases. Ensure NPI and transfer activities comply with Benchmark's Management System (BMS) documentation as well as site-level Quality Management System (QMS).

Coaching & CrossFunctional Leadership

Provide coaching and handson guidance to receivingsite quality teams throughout the NPI and transfer lifecycle. Train site teams on Medical and A&D customer requirements, inspection plans, validation requirements, and risk controls. Act as a bridge between global quality, site quality, engineering, and program teams to ensure consistent execution and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline. 5+ years of experience in quality engineering within Medical, A&D, or other highly regulated electronics manufacturing environments. Handson experience with ISO 13485, FDA QMSR, and/or AS9100 environments. Proven experience leading or supporting NPIs and manufacturing transfers. Strong working knowledge of: DFMEA / PFMEA and riskbased quality planning, Control plans, inspection strategies, and traceability, Root cause analysis and corrective actions, Equipment, process validation, and qualification. Experience working directly with customers and regulatory expectations. Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline. 5+ years of experience in quality engineering within Medical, A&D, or other highly regulated electronics manufacturing environments.

Compensation Range: $116,617.00 to $145,772.00 USD. Many factors are considered in compensation decisions, including but not limited to skills, certifications, licensures, experience, training, incumbent data, and other business needs.
