What we offer you! * Competitive compensation * Comprehensive benefit plan (medical, dental, vision and more) * 401(k) retirement savings plan * Paid time off (vacation, holidays, PTO) * Employee discount programs * Opportunities for educational and professional growth * Additional compensation may vary depending on the position and organizational level Purpose of the position: * Ensure that Emergency plans, procedures, policies, and training programs are in place which enables Company to take appropriate actions to protect the employees, the public, the environment and our assets and property. * Ensure that the Emergency Response Teams are maintained and in a constant state of readiness and are properly trained and equipped. * Over-see and coordinate the development and implementation of the LG&E Emergency Response program * Strategize and collaborate with Global ER Manager to standardize ER procedures worldwide * Take a Leadership role in addressing major Emergency Response incidents to protect the Company's personnel, assets, and reputation (such as fires, chemical release, injuries, death, property damage). * Ensure ACC Responsible Care Community Outreach and Emergency Response requirements are met, maintained and up to date. * Maintain a working knowledge in all relative emergency response legislation and industry guidelines (current and pending) and assist the business in identifying impact and solutions for compliance. * Identify Best Practices and make recommendations for continuous improvement. * Provide guidance and recommendations on emergency response issues to corporate support functions such as HR, Legal/Compliance, Audit, etc. Principle Responsibilities: * Work in partnership with HS&E and all other business functions to develop and implement emergency response standards, guidelines, process, and best practices in accordance with ACC Responsible Care, CGA and other internal and regulatory initiatives. * Manage and develop Emergency Response capabilities of Company Emergency Response program * Over-see Emergency Response operations for all LG&E business lines in US. * Monitor emergency response calls, provide guidance for response, develop an evaluation to critique calls striving for continuous improvement. * Manage the emergency response communications systems to ensure they are functional and up to date. * Liaise as Community Awareness Emergency Response (CAER) Coordinator for the Company. Perform training with community emergency response and fire department personnel. * Develop POIS chapters for Emergency Response and Hazardous Materials management to include training and equipment specifications. * Determine emergency response equipment needs for senior management approval. Evaluate new equipment as it becomes available. Purchase and distribute equipment in consideration of use and budgetary controls. * Act as Incident Commander during major responses/incidents. Mobilize Emergency Response Teams when necessary. Liaison with local authorities during major emergency responses. * Participate in industry associations (CGA) and committees as required. * Participate on Regional and Global Teams of Experts relating to Emergency Response. * Assist with the development of the Crisis Management Plans, including Business Recovery and Business Continuity activities to ensure all emergency response aspects are addressed. * Conduct, update, and audit appropriate emergency response risk assessments in accordance with governmental and industry related regulations and standards. * Develop and implement Emergency Response standards, taking into account Global Standards on Emergency Response and local conditions and risks * Review all Product offering while considering equipment, training and supply chain needs and coverage. * Support and train HSE field support on specific emergency response processes and audit program requirements. * Provide support and expertise to location managers and HSE field support during regulatory inspections and visits such as local and state emergency response training/drills. * Conduct audits in support of the Company audit plan. * Develop and conduct training on emergency response processes. * Keep abreast of emergency response legislation and industry guidelines (current and pending) and assist the business in identifying impact and solutions for compliance. Qualifications
