BID ANNOUNCEMENT Forestry Supervisor, V14 DEPARTMENT OF STREETS AND SANITATION Bureau of Forestry Number of Positions: 2 (Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval) Starting Salary: $77,628.00 - 130,620.00 Applications for this position will be accepted until 11:59pm CDT on May 1, 2026 This position is covered under the City's collective bargaining agreement with County, Municipal and Foreman Local 1001. (BARGAINING UNIT 54). Only employees in City job titles in this bargaining unit are eligible to bid. Additional duties may be required for this position Location: Varies Days: Monday - Friday Hours: 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education, Training, and Experience * Three years of work experience in the trimming, planting, care, and removal of trees; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Licensure, Certification, or Other Qualifications * A valid State of Illinois driver's license is required. * Must be certified as an Arborist by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), certification is required within six months of hire. SELECTION REQUIREMENTS: This position requires applicants to complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position will be selected in seniority order.
