Job Responsibilities: Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations Core Values and incorporates them into the performance of duties. Reviews assigned Perlmutter Cancer Center and associated sub-site clinical trial budgets and contracts to ensure a thorough understanding of business terms and financial obligations. Implements financial and billing processes to maintain consistency across trials and to comply with sponsor approved budgets. Manages sub-site budgets to ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines and adherence to payment schedule. Addresses and escalates inconsistencies and discrepancies to approved budget as needed. Manages day to day aspects pertaining to the finances of assigned clinical trials. Utilizes internal tracking systems for monthly reconciliation and monitoring of assigned clinical trials financial activity. Investigates, researches, and validates all claim details to confirm accuracy and compliance to approved budgets. Provides departmental authorization for charges to be applied to trials. Arranges payments to external clinical research service providers, including confirmation of budget terms, vendor set-up in NYU systems, submission of requisitions, and invoice approval. Determines when departmental clinical research fees are due and provides appropriate billing details to department Financial Analyst for processing. Ensures Research Nurses input timely data for payment processing. Arranges submission of human subject service payments and travel reimbursements according to the budget terms of eligible studies through Peoplesoft Financials or third-party payment systems. Creates timely and accurate invoices to sponsors and monitors status of invoices. Maintains regular follows up with sponsors to ensure timely collection of sponsor payment. Anticipates and escalates payment delays as appropriate. Liaises with Research Finance staff to ensure payments are received and applied correctly. Reconciles closed trials and ensures account closeouts are properly processed. Identifies trials where revenue exceeded actual expenses, and process appropriate transfer of excess revenue. Works with Asst. Director Clinical Research Finance to prepare Cancer Center expense budgets associated with clinical trials revenue and expense for upcoming fiscal year, based on professional judgment and a projection of direct and indirect costs and fee revenue for open and pending trials. Prepares ad-hoc financial reports and forecasts for clinical trials disease programs to aid in decision making at the departmental level, as requested. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required. Additional Position Specific Responsibilities: Core Values: Adheres to the values and missions of NYU Langone Health. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelors Degree in business related field or science. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in managing clinical trial budgets and financials. NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $70,481.60 - $75,428.87 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
