What you'll be doing...

As a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff within the Technology Product Development team, you will architect the next generation of our wireless business solutions, including One Talk, Mission Critical Push-to-Talk, and Mid-Market UC. You will drive the technical roadmap from initial concept to enterprise-scale deployment, bridging the gap between abstract business requirements and concrete technical execution. You will also focus on operationalizing AI to deliver product solutions that solve tangible business challenges.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Leading the end-to-end technical design, testing, and deployment of features, ensuring seamless integration between wireless network infrastructure and complex communication platforms.

  • Serving as the primary technical authority in vendor partnerships, holding external engineering teams accountable to Verizon's requirements and standards.

  • Defining and leading the technical framework for AI-driven features such as AI voice receptionists and automated transcription.

  • Driving hands-on "fail-fast" initiatives in the wireless lab, building proofs-of-concept to evaluate internal and external emerging technologies.

  • Proactively identifying and executing on opportunities to streamline development processes and introduce product efficiencies.

What we're looking for...

The ideal candidate is curious and proactive, exploring technology even when its out of scope of current duties. You enjoy engaging in discussions about new products or processes, can get hands on in a lab environment to test an idea or theory, and are willing and able to provide your professional opinions and experiences in a group setting.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Comprehensive understanding of 4G/5G RAN and Core network signaling and how they interwork with VoLTE, VONR, and over-the-top voice applications.

  • Deep protocol expertise with mastery of SIP, RTP/RTCP, and IMS architecture.

  • Development and/or experience with automation, AI Agents & LLM's.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to translate complex technical architectures into clear business value for senior leadership.

  • Experience with Business communication products.

  • Experience designing and launching AI-powered communication features such as virtual assistants.

  • Experience with 3rd-party application integration, authentication, and authorization using programmatic APIs.

  • Solid understanding of mobile device operating systems, application frameworks, and push notification services.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $139,000.00 - $267,000.00.
