POSITION TITLE: Director, Enterprise Systems & AI Enablement

POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Director of Enterprise Systems & AI Enablement, you will serve as the primary liaison between the administrative departments and technical IT teams. In this role, you serve as the product owner, evaluating new systems and supporting existing enterprise applications across Scripps Research, while taking an active, hands-on approach to training and drive adoption of agentic AI tools to streamline processes and drive operational efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:



  • Lead and manage the Enterprise application support team responsible for providing day-to-day support of the systems
  • Work closely with the Enterprise engineering team to provide development requirements and testing support
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve technical issues
  • Play an active role in prototyping and developing AI agents to automate processes
  • Train other administrative super users to develop and deploy AI agents
  • Work closely with IT Infrastructure team to create an institutional framework for deployment and usage of AI agents
  • Provide thought leadership within and across other departments on technologies and best practices

            REQUIREMENTS:



            • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems management, engineering or similar technical discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
            • Master's degree in computer science or similar discipline or MBA preferred.
            • 5+ years of experience with managing complex systems and workflows
            • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
            • Experience with database technologies including SQL, noSQL, data warehouses
            • Experience in scripting in python or similar languages
            • Experience with leverage AI tools to create agents/bots for automation
            • Excellent Project Management skills to monitor and manage the progress of multiple, simultaneous projects.
            • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
            • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

            • While subject to change based on business needs, this is an on-campus position requiring a minimum of 4 days per week working onsite from our La Jolla campus, with flexibility to work 1 day per week remotely from home.





                    COMPENSATION:

                    The expected hiring range for this position is $181,000 to $205,000/annually, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
