Position Summary

The IT Quality Assurance (ITQA) Lead is a senior, hands on quality and validation professional responsible for ensuring the accuracy, stability, and end to end integrity of billing and revenue cycle system changes across hospital patient accounting, billing, claims, and related clinical and financial systems. This role plays a critical part in supporting large scale revenue cycle initiatives by validating that billing workflows, claims generation, edits, and downstream financial processes function accurately and compliantly.

The ITQA Lead combines strong billing and revenue cycle knowledge with advanced testing and validation expertise, taking ownership of quality outcomes across multiple, interdependent initiatives. The role involves direct execution of testing activities as well as leadership of QA standards, cross functional coordination, and communication with revenue cycle and IT stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead and execute system integration, end to end, and regression testing with a focus on billing, claims, and accounts receivable workflows



  • Validate data accuracy and workflow integrity across patient accounts, charges, billing, claims submission, remittance, and posting



  • Ensure system changes support accurate claim creation, timely billing, and downstream reimbursement



  • Identify testing impacts across interconnected systems and ensure billing related scenarios are fully covered



  • Perform hands on testing, defect identification, and root cause analysis tied to billing outcomes



  • Partner with IT, application, vendor, and revenue cycle teams to resolve defects impacting billing performance



  • Provide QA leadership for charge to bill workflows, ensuring clinical activity translates accurately into billable charges and claims



  • Validate end to end billing scenarios, including edits, holds, work queues, and exception handling



  • Ensure changes support auditability, compliance, and revenue integrity across billing processes



  • Lead QA efforts related to billing configuration changes, including system rules, edits, tables, and reference data



  • Validate downstream impacts to claims, reporting, follow up, and cash flow



  • Perform pre and post implementation comparisons to confirm expected billing and financial outcomes



  • Support optimization of billing edits, worklists, and billing controls



  • Assess the impact of system changes on key billing and revenue metrics



  • Ensure testing confirms improvement in billing efficiency without introducing financial or compliance risk



  • Develop and manage QA artifacts including test plans, scripts, defect tracking, and validation documentation



  • Communicate billing focused testing results, risks, and readiness assessments to program and leadership stakeholders



  • Establish testing standards and support knowledge sharing and mentoring within QA functions



  • Support governance, change management, and release readiness activities




Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Systems, Healthcare, Business, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare IT, revenue cycle, billing systems, or quality assurance/testing
  • Strong understanding of:

    • Hospital billing and claims workflows
    • Accounts receivable and payment posting
    • Edits, holds, and billing controls


  • Proven experience leading system integration and end to end testing in complex revenue cycle environments
  • Demonstrated ability to balance hands on execution with strategic leadership


Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting large scale revenue cycle or billing transformation initiatives
  • Familiarity with enterprise billing platforms and healthcare financial system integrations
  • Background in complex, regulated healthcare or hospital environments
