About Us

The Office of the Maricopa County School Superintendent is led by the elected Superintendent. The office provides statutory services related toschool governing board elections, bond and override elections, appointments, school finance, and maintaining homeschool and private school records. The Superintendent also oversees theMaricopa County accommodation district, ensuring educational opportunities for at-risk students, including those in detention schools.

We Require

  • Two years of experience in developing and implementing enterprise-scale reports and dashboards, including experience with data implementations

  • Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, data analytics, statistics, or a related field

  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

Other Requirements

  • Must possess or have the ability to possess by the time of hire a valid driver's license and background clearance

  • Must obtain and maintain annual Arizona Election Officer certification after hiring

Job Contributions

  • Coordinate and administer school district candidate and ballot issue elections, including general, special, and recall elections, in compliance with Arizona Revised Statutes

  • Serve as filing officer for candidate documentation, petitions, and ballot measures; compile, review, and distribute election materials, and assist candidates and districts throughout the election process

  • Produce school district Voter Information Publicity Pamphlets, coordinating with districts, vendors, and County Elections to ensure accurate and timely materials for voters

  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and business tools to support school districts, managers, and community stakeholders in data-driven decision-making

  • Gather, document, and translate reporting and dashboard requirements into actionable specifications, ensuring accuracy and consistency across multiple data sources

  • Analyze, evaluate, and integrate data, performing statistical analysis, identifying trends or anomalies, and providing insights to support operational and strategic decisions

  • Communicate effectively with staff, districts, vendors, and community members via email, phone, presentations, and meetings, providing guidance, training, and data-driven insights

  • Maintain detailed election and data records, strategic plans, and online information to ensure transparency, compliance, and efficient operations

  • Collaborate with County Elections, County Attorney, County Recorder, school districts, and internal teams to resolve election-related issues, process recall petitions, approve ballot proofs, and provide data or information for court hearings

  • Collaborate, create, and maintain data dashboards for a variety of education-related data environments, homeschool and private school trends, general enrollment, demographic trends, literacy, mathematics, science, and STEM proficiencies, professional development, and district financial health

  • Support leadership and cross-functional teams by providing election and data expertise, participating in professional development, cross-training staff, and assisting with other duties as assigned by the Chief Deputy

Working Conditions

  • This position works in an office environment

  • May be required to work evening hours and weekends

  • Hybrid and alternative work schedules are based on business needs

  • Requires in-person availability during periods of high workload or seasonal demand
