Sr. Power BI Developer

The Senior Power BI Developer designs, builds, and maintains complex, high-performance BI solutions, transforming raw data into actionable insights. They lead data modeling, create advanced DAX calculations, ensure data governance, and mentor junior staff. Key requirements include 7+ years of experience, expertise in SQL, Power Query, and strong Data Modeling

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:
* Data Modeling & Transformation: Construct sophisticated semantic data models, implement intricate DAX measures, and utilize Power Query (M) scripts for effective data transformation. Develop advanced DAX Measures and functions.

* Report & Dashboard Development: Create interactive, visually attractive, and easy-to-use reports and dashboards that fulfill business needs using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service, with an emphasis on optimizing performance.

* Architecture & Governance: Support the maintenance of established data governance policies, enforce security standards such as row-level security, manage defined audiences within Power BI Service, and oversee workspace deployment pipelines as applicable.

* Data Integration: Establish connections with multiple data sources, including Azure Data Lake Gen 2, SharePoint and enhance ETL processes to support reporting requirements and visualization

* Leadership & Mentorship: Provide strategic directions for projects, establish best practices tailored to organizational needs, and offer guidance to junior team members.

* Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborating with stakeholders to convert business requirements into effective reports with data visualizations. Collecting and analyzing requirements from both technical and non-technical stakeholders to inform strategic business decisions.

* Performance Optimization: Identifying and resolving performance challenges related to datasets/semantic model, queries, and visualizations within the current environment.

* Support & Maintenance: Deliver production support services encompassing issue resolution, data modeling, and the development and maintenance of robust data pipelines.

* Security & Compliance: Establish robust security protocols and follow industry best practices appropriate to Mazak Corp.'s standards for data access, storage, backup, and recovery procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications
* Experience: 7+ years in BI development, with at least 5 years specialized in Power Query.
* Technical Proficiencies: Advanced DAX, Power Query (M), SQL, and Azure data lake concepts.
* Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.
* Data Modeling: Experience with relational databases and star schema used by multi-Company ERP systems.
* Data Visualization: Ability to design intuitive visually attractive, and easy-to-use reports and dashboards.
* Tools: Proficient with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, SQL Server Management Studios (SSMS), and ideally Azure/Microsoft Fabric.
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field.
* Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and both written & verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
* Microsoft Power BI development tools
* SQL Server Management Studios (SSMS)
* Knowledge of Azure DevOps or version control tools.
* Microsoft Technology Stack: Azure Data Lake Gen 2 serverless environment, Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL Server, SharePoint, SQL Server Management Studios (SSMS) and Microsoft Teams.
