Summary
The Medical College of Wisconsin Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, is seeking three clinically licensed social workers to join the Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. The Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery (TACS) has three immediate openings for a clinically licensed social worker with experience providing clinical care. This is a unique position; the TACS Psychology program recently received a grant from the National Alliance for Trauma Recovery Centers to start Milwaukee's first Trauma Recovery Center (MKE TRC). This position will be 100% providing evidence-based, culturally responsive care to survivors of violence, including adults, children, and families. This is a multidisciplinary clinic to provide mental health care; the clinical social worker will have a case load, engage in case management, group supervision, and ongoing training in a new and dynamic clinic environment. The social worker will work alongside psychologists, other social workers, and a psychiatrist, along with community stakeholders and organizations. This social worker will join a dynamic division where there will be possibilities to engage in training, research, and clinical innovation. There is a strong trauma psychology research program within the division, and there will be multiple opportunities for cross-collaboration. Education, training, and experience required:
Primary Responsibilities
Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis. Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree Minimum Required Experience: 3 years Preferred Experience: Minimum 3,000 hours post-Bachelor's supervised experience Required Certification/Licensure(s): Wisconsin provider status or certification/as anAdvanced Practice Social Worker(APSW), and pass the ASWB Clinical Exam Preferred Certification/Licensure(s): Licensed Clinical Social Worker Physical Requirements
Work requires occasionally lifting moderate weight materials, standing, or walking continuously. Work Environment
Occasional exposure to dust, noise, temperature changes, or contact with water or other liquids. Work is performed in an environmentally controlled environment. Sensory Acuity
Ability to detect and translate speech or other communication required. May occasionally require the ability to distinguish colors and perceive relative distances between objects. #LI-AV1
