Summary
Responsible for productivity, quality, and service, strategic planning, and continuous improvement of the phlebotomy program with strict adherence to regulatory requirements and alignment with Enterprise goals and strategy. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Assures quality, compliance, efficiency, and patient satisfaction across phlebotomy operations. -Responsible for implementing MGB-wide standards at the local level, including strategic initiatives. -Coordinates with other departments to ensure seamless integration. -Leads departmental meetings, ensuring communication to staff and engagement in sharing goals and priorities. -Monitors employee performance and performance improvement, works with the Human Resources team on employee relations matters. -Prepares and monitors departmental operating and capital budgets, manages resources and equipment procurement. -Develops and implements policies and procedures for the phlebotomy department, maintains inspection readiness and compliance. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Related Field of Study preferred or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Phlebotomy Technician [National Certification] - Generic - HR Only required Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred Experience Minimum 4 years of Phlebotomy Supervisory experience with an Associates Degree 3-5 years required or Minimum 6 years of Phlebotomy Supervisory experience with an HS or equivalent degree 5-7 years required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - In-depth knowledge of phlebotomy regulatory requirements, ensuring accountability within the team. - Must have demonstrated leadership, communication (oral and written), and problem-solving ability. - Must be highly organized, efficient, and able to work independently. Requires human relations skills to influence and motivate others. - Proficient with statistical and computer productivity software. - Advanced management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail. - Competent in training and mentorship, conflict resolution, and incident management abilities. - Active in productivity benchmarking work, including a fluency in finance.
