This opportunity to join the Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at the rank of Staff Associate I is an exciting one. The Department of Pediatrics at Columbia University Irving Medical Center has the top pediatrics department in the NY region in NIH research funding.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Identification and enrollment of eligible subjects for research studies.
  • Coordination, collection, and processing of human biospecimens.
  • Maintenance of consent forms and IRB protocols.
  • Perform cell culture, flow cytometry, ELISA, and other scientific techniques required for the generation of immunologic data for covered studies.
  • Generation and basic analysis of data related to scientific assays.
  • Creation of reports related to study enrollment including progress reports and data generated by studies.
  • Ensure lab has necessary supplies and communicate with PI regarding all study related material.


  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in specific research field and 2-3 years of experience.
  • Consistently strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with professionals in other disciplines.
  • The ability to create a high-energy results-oriented work environment that encourages colleagues and staff to value each other's contributions.
  • The ability to share and celebrate success with colleagues and staff.
