Job Summary Responsible for overseeing the assessment and improvement of healthcare quality standards and outcomes. This position involves managing quality evaluation processes, analyzing performance data, and implementing strategies to enhance patient care, safety, and operational efficiency, ensuring that the facility adheres to regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and leading practices while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.This role requires hands-on analysis of quality and performance data. Successful candidates will be expected to personally perform complex data analysis and reporting, rather than solely overseeing analytical functions or interpreting reports prepared by others. Essential Functions: - Leads the development, implementation, and management of quality evaluation programs to assess the performance of clinical and operational processes. - Analyzes healthcare data, including patient outcomes, safety incidents, and compliance with quality standards, to identify trends and areas for improvement. - Monitors key performance indicators and benchmarks to evaluate the effectiveness of quality improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for enhancement. - Develops and implements quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care, safety, and overall facility performance. - Collaborates with clinical and administrative leaders to integrate leading practices into daily operations and ensure adherence to quality standards. - Ensures that the facility meets all regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and industry guidelines related to healthcare quality and safety. - Prepares for and leads quality evaluations, audits, and accreditation surveys, ensuring all documentation and processes are in compliance. - Oversees the collection, analysis, and reporting of quality data to internal and external stakeholders, including leadership, regulatory agencies, and accreditation bodies. - Prepares comprehensive reports for hospital leadership, regulatory agencies, and quality improvement committees. - Works closely with the patient safety and risk management teams to identify and mitigate risks related to patient care and facility operations. - Leads root cause analysis and failure mode and effects analysis to address quality and safety issues and prevent recurrence. - Identifies and prioritize quality initiatives that align with the organization's goals and drive measurable improvements in care delivery. -Strong data analysis experience, particularly in Excel (e.g., building macros, pivot tables, formulas, automated templates, etc.) is required -Familiarity with quality and safety metrics is strongly preferred -Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative to ask questions, validate data, proactively identify and address issues, and work in a highly matrixed environment with disparate data sources and evolving data needs -Ability to manage confidential and highly sensitive information -Growth mindset: willingness to receive feedback, learn and adapt performance accordingly -Strong written and oral communication skills and presentation skills; able distill data into key conclusions, and professionally and sensitively communicate these, adapting communications for various audiences as appropriate Qualifications Education Additional Job Details (if applicable) Department: MGH Orthopedics Schedule: Monday - Friday | Flexible Hours | Hybrid Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 403b retirement plan, tuition reimbursement, discounted MBTA pass & more!
