About The Role:

As an Environmental Engineer, you will work in a fast-paced environment where you'll lead and contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects across multiple industries, collaborate with technical experts throughout the company, and help drive the continued expansion of our environmental services throughout the region. You'll supervise and mentor a team of engineers and geologists, supporting their growth through guidance and training. We can offer dynamic projects so if you like variety, this is for you. Clients include power & utility, retail such as Target and Walmart, USTs, colleges & universities, multi-family, state contracts, local developers, brownfields, municipal & government, and more.




  • Lead Projects: Manage all phases of projects, including scoping, budgeting, execution, reporting, and client communication.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide expertise in a variety of projects, including but not limited to soil and groundwater remediation and design, vapor intrusion, mitigation system design/installation, contaminated site management, and emerging contaminant investigations (PFAS).
  • Field & Design Work: Oversee field investigations (drilling, sampling, data collection) and prepare design recommendations for complex or unusual site conditions.
  • Mentorship: Guide and support engineers, geologists, and technical staff, fostering career development and in-house training.
  • Business Development: Leverage your local market knowledge and relationships to identify, pursue, and secure project opportunities. Collaborate with clients to build trust and expand S&ME's presence.



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a closely related engineering field
  • 8+ years of environmental engineering experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Excellent project management skills and team leadership
  • Excellent business and technical writing skills
  • Desire to contribute to business growth and mentor developing professionals
