Scope of Position

In this role, you will construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard using the carpenter's hand tools and power tools while conforming to local building codes. You will read and interpret construction documents to find information related to the project. Other duties may include installing concrete reinforcement, connection embeds, use of multiple form systems, trim work, door, and hardware installation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Follow established safety rules

  • Providing leadership to carpenter helpers, apprentices, and laborers

  • Erect Scaffolding

  • Maintains or modifies woodwork and other related structures

  • Occasionally work around hazardous material and equipment

  • Construct forms

  • Install anchor bolts, reinforcing steel, & embeds

  • Frame floors, walls, & roof structures

  • Demolition of concrete and wood structures

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of experience

Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures

  • Can follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform functions of the job

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
