Inova Alexandria Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the team. This role will be part-time day shift: 24 hours/week, 3x 8 hour shifts per week.

Registered Nurse Job Responsibilities:[KS3]

  • Provides safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care in a patient- and family-centered manner.

  • Performs thorough patient assessments, interprets data, and identifies care priorities.

  • Develops and implements individualized plans of care to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

  • Evaluates patient progress, anticipates changes, and adjusts care plans accordingly.

  • Coordinates care and discharge planning with the healthcare team and community resources.

  • Advocates for patients' rights and ensures their needs and preferences are respected.

  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation in compliance with standards.

  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with physicians, nurses, and other disciplines.

  • Serves as a clinical resource, mentor, and preceptor to peers and new staff.

  • Engages in professional growth, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:[KS4]

  • Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
  • Experience: One year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start
  • Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of recent Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse experience
  • Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
