About the Role

At KARL STORZ, we are redefining what's possible in the operating room. As a Product Deployment Specialist, you will play a critical role in bringing cuttingedge, audiovisual and networkbased integrated OR systems to life inside medical facilities.

This is a highly technical, fieldbased role focused on the installation, configuration, and deployment of integrated operating room systems. You'll work handson in hospital environments alongside a skilled deployment team, ensuring each system is installed to exacting standards while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

What You'll Do

As a Product Deployment Specialist, you will:

  • Deploy audiovisual and networkbased integrated OR systems within hospital operating rooms
  • Perform physical installation, placement, termination, and management of equipment and cabling
  • Configure software and system components according to installation standards and work instructions
  • Work as part of a deployment team (2+ specialists) under the direction of a Site Lead
  • Execute assigned tasks in an organized, thoughtful, and professional manner
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external customers to meet project deadlines and SLAs
  • Follow all SOPs, installation standards, safety protocols, and quality requirements
  • Attend technical training and update sessions (fieldbased, virtual, or at KARL STORZ sites)
  • Utilize mobile and computer technology to complete required documentation, timesheets, and reports
  • Submit accurate expense reports weekly and manage travel and equipment costs responsibly
  • Maintain hospital credentialing and comply with all customer and KARL STORZ protocols
  • Represent KARL STORZ with professionalism in sensitive medical environments
Technical Scope (Introductory Deployment Level)

You will gain and apply foundational expertise in:

  • Cable pulling, termination, dressing, and management
  • Software installation and configuration
  • OR1 Core Integration Systems and supporting deliverables
  • Basic networking concepts and OR1 network products
  • AV and medical device system components
  • Use of hand tools and basic test equipment
What You Bring Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in cabling, AV, networked systems, medical devices, or similar technical field roles
  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Basic experience with:
    • Audio/Video systems or networkbased systems
    • Cable pull and termination
    • Hand tools (e.g., crimp tools, solder stations, voltmeters)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, and Excel
  • Familiarity with mobile tools and applications
  • Strong professional communication and customerfacing skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments
  • Teamoriented mindset with a willingness to learn and be coached
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to qualify for and maintain a corporate credit card
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in integrated OR systems or hospital environments
  • Ability to:
    • Perform solder, crimp, compression, and fiber terminations
    • Identify and work with coax, CAT5/6, fiber optic, and multiconductor cabling
    • Mount AV equipment such as displays and speakers
    • Read and interpret schematics
  • Experience with control systems, network devices, video matrix switchers, amplifiers, or digital video recorders
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Extensive travel (up to 80%) throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico
  • Flexible scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends
  • Physical demands include lifting up to 100+ lbs, climbing ladders, working overhead, crouching, and operating in tight spaces
  • Work performed in active hospital environments around sensitive medical equipment and patients
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and manual dexterity required throughout the day
