Description Survey Technician I - Richardson, TX Halff has a current opening for a Survey Technician in our Richardson, Texas location. What you will do: Conduct project research. Prepare deed sketches for boundary searches. Process field data for TOPO and boundary. Prepare final deliverables for RPLS review. Writing Legal descriptions. Prepare field requests. Assisting the RPLS with the Boundary Analysis. Opportunities to participate in voluntary peer-supported study groups for exam preparation and career advancement. Exposure to projects working directly with a Licensed State Land Surveyor (LSL). What you will need: 2+ years of experience as a Survey Technician. Previous field experience as a Party Chief. Experience in producing survey maps and plats. Experience as a DOT survey technician is a plus, but not required. Experience with TXDOT is a plus. Software skills: Civil 3D drafting Trimble Business Center (TBC) Microsoft tools, i.e., Excel, Teams, etc. Experience with Civil 3D, required. Understanding of Computer Technology (tablets, iPads, etc.) required. Ability and willingness to follow instructions that may be written, delivered verbally, or conveyed from various methods of communication. Must be flexible, dependable, responsible and disciplined to be a positive representative for Halff and remain punctual on a consistent basis. Overtime and weekend work may be needed to meet project deadlines. Ability to pass a drug and background screen. Survey Technician Preferred Requirements: SIT or CST I, II, or III certification is desired, but not required. Previous field experience as a surveyor is a plus. TxDOT, Electrical or Land Development survey technician experience is a plus. Experience with MicroStation Open Roads Design is a plus. Experience with Trimble Business Center. High level of education is a plus (Associate's degree in Land Survey or Bachelor's degree in Land Survey and/or Geospatial Sciences).
